This 8th class within my Master’s in Regeneration and Sustainable Development was entirely focused on the energy matrix for a country: understanding what it is and how to change it. This class gave me the contextual and policy perspectives necessary to conceptualize the complex exchange of energy from source to end user.
This course was a significant keystone to starting my personal capstone project / startup concept: Green Hydrogen Project. More information on this project can be found in the link.
Throughout this course, I participated in a team focused on Colombia’s energy matrix. We looked at energy price and consumption trends, types of energy used, how it’s used, and what policies can be written to aid the transition to renewable energy use. We looked at the electrification of buses in urban areas and the transition to and from natural gas. Finally, we looked at the critical relationship between human development and energy use. The below report summarizes these thoughts, both in English and Spanish.
