Project Name/Link and OrganizationDescription
Green Hydrogen Personal Capstone ProjectThis personal capstone project aims to combine my background in Fluid Systems and Aerospace Engineering with my academic Circular Economy and Renewable Energy knowledge. This project resembles a complete business idea from circular economy business model ideation through fluid system design to financial analysis.
Circular Economy applied to Blue OriginThis project focused on implementing a liquid hydrogen generation plant at one of Blue Origin‘s launch sites and the economic and environmental benefits it would have. This project showcases my deep understanding of aerospace systems with a sustainability lens.
Research into Sustainable Aerospace FuelsThis project details some of my research into bringing sustainability to aerospace – through the lens of cleaner fuels.
Umbilical and Leakage Requirements ProjectI led the development and traceability of umbilical system requirements, resolving compliance issues while ensuring alignment with NASA and environmental standards.

The below table shows some of the projects I’ve developed and led. Please feel free to Contact Me for any specific details.

Project Name/Link and OrganizationDescription
NeoCiclo – a Tire Upcycling StartupThis project involved the creation of a startup focused on the recollection, upcycling, reforming, and transforming of used automobile tires in Bucaramanga, Colombia. This project gave me exposure to the chaotic, but exciting, world of Technology Startups.
The Grupo Carlos Santamaría Circular Economy Initiative ProjectDeveloped a circular economy initiative for the Colombian white label detergent manufacturer that focused on biodegradable detergent, recycled packaging, and distribution systems that not only benefit the company economically but also the environment in measurable and significant ways.
The Juan Valdez ESG Management ProjectAnalyzed Juan Valdez’s ESG impacts and dependencies across six reports, proposing strategies for climate action, water management, social inclusion, circularity, and improved reporting to enhance company sustainability.
Highway Pamplona to Cúcuta ProjectAssessed ecosystem service impacts and dependencies of a major highway project, using climate data to evaluate future risks and opportunities.
Business Strategy Development ProjectIn this project, my team and I acted as CEOs of a manufacturing business, developing and implementing strategy across operations in competition with classmates.
Sustainable Ranch VolunteeringMy partner and I spent a couple of weeks volunteering at Rancho Sostenible in eastern Mexico, gaining hands-on experience in regenerative agriculture and going beyond traditional Systems Engineering.
Matlab Umbilical Pull-off ProjectI developed a MATLAB program to model forces and plots for umbilical components across various input types and sources. Additionally, I built a GUI, integrated online documentation, and began working with APIs, strengthening coding skills transferable to later projects.
Risk and Reliability ManagementFor over two years, I led risk management, presenting on risks, documenting mitigation strategies, and collaborating with suppliers to confirm component safety for the umbilicals team. I also helped develop the system safety products for the umbilicals team, including FTAs, FHAs, and FMECAs.
Umbilical Operational Requirement ReviewI led the development of operational requirements and restrictions for the umbilical system, documenting proven capabilities and failure modes. This cross-functional effort, at the intersection of ground and vehicle systems, strengthened my ability to navigate diverse perspectives
Release Mechanism Design and TestWhile at Systima Technologies one project in particular stands out – from napkin sketch drawing to development testing – I created a pyrotechnically actuated release mechanism to separate a payload from the F-35 Fighter Jet internal bay.
