Management for Sustainable Development and Regeneration

For my 6th class in the MRDS program, I learned the fundamentals of how an organization interacts with and manages it’s relationships with the climatic and social environment.

This class focused on a sample organization case study: The Juan Valdez ESG Management Project. Throughout the class, I learned in-depth how aspects like the climate crisis, social inclusion, water scarcity, and circularity can impact and impose risks and opportunities for an organization. Specifically, my team and I carried out detailed reviews and made suggestions for the major Colombian coffee producer and retailer Juan Valdez. You can read more about this project and the reports my team and I wrote here: The Juan Valdez ESG Management Project. Additionally, here’s a link to all of my projects: Past Projects.

This class had a deep regenerative focus – every week we read case studies and learned about a company that was going beyond sustainability and actually regenerating the natural environment. By being thoughtful in designing business models, regenerative practices can be implemented into the heart of the business – and this class has taught me how to do that.
