Juan Valdez is a multi-national coffee producer, brewer, and retailer based in Colombia. For the intensive 7 week Management for Sustainable Development and Regeneration course, my team and I developed many proposals to address Juan Valdez’s main operating areas.
Skills gained from this project:
- Applied a system’s view to real-world problems for an organization
- Developed solutions that were cost-effective and moved the needle for sustainability in a corporate environment
- Utilized corporate challenges (inclusion, climate action, water management, and circularity) and turned them into opportunities
- Gained experience in corporate GRI reporting
- Learned the ins and outs of how coffee is cultivated and processed
- Experienced working in a diverse team of Colombian students
- Enhanced my Spanish speaking, writing, reading, and listening skillset
